Sloth Cafe Featured in the Souka City Newsletter! — Programming Classes and Workshops Available!

Today (Thursday, January 30, 2025) was our programming class day, and the cafe was lively with elementary school students in the evening! More and more students are joining us. At Sloth Cafe, we offer programming lessons in a wheelchair-accessible environment, and we even support eye-tracking-based programming. Children with disabilities are welcome to experience it!

Have you seen the February issue of Soka City’s newsletter? The cover features the An-chan Family, known for their eye-tracking art! It’s a wonderful photo that beautifully captures the love and warmth surrounding An-chan from her parents. And guess what? Sloth Cafe is also featured in the newsletter! The editorial team kindly came for an interview, and we hope this will help bring more visitors to our cafe.

The newsletter also includes our programming class student Mirai-chan, the team from Pace, which organizes private pool events for children with disabilities, and link worker Araki-san. Many familiar faces are featured, making it an enjoyable read for us!

We are grateful for the support of people like Nagahori-san from the Soka City Office and Iwabuchi-san from Fukuramu Welfare Research Institute, who are working to enhance welfare services in the city. Thanks to such dedicated individuals, we feel that the future of Soka is very bright. We are truly glad to have opened Sloth Cafe in this wonderful community, and we will continue to do our best to contribute as a community cafe.

Sloth Cafe is also available for hosting workshops, lectures, and events. We provide a large-screen monitor, making it suitable for baby circles, storytelling sessions, parenting seminars, handmade craft workshops, and more. Please feel free to consult us about your ideas! (However, political, religious, multi-level marketing, and spiritual group activities are not permitted.)

If you’re interested in starting a new club at Sloth Cafe, let us know! Currently, we regularly host a Handicraft Club and a Music & Singing Club, often on the same day. The next sessions are on February 26: Handicraft Club at 1:00 PM, followed by Music & Singing at 2:00 PM. We look forward to seeing you!

Please note that we are closed on Fridays. We hope to see you on the weekend! ❤
