Hello, this is Okada, manager of Sloth Cafe.
On April 10th, in celebration of “Siblings Day,” we hosted a special live concert by the Taniken Band, organized by the group I lead, Brave Kids – Supporting Siblings and Families of Children with Disabilities.
The performers were Taniken-san (from NHK’s Hook Book Row, @taniken_k.tanimoto), Maiko-san (@maiko_aco), and Nocchi-san. All three were incredibly warm and attentive, engaging with each child personally. Their heartfelt kindness moved everyone in the venue, and smiles were everywhere! Many parents shared how much they enjoyed it, saying things like, “It was so much fun!” and “I was moved to tears.” ✨
As the organizer (with a bit of a special privilege 😄), I took the opportunity to capture the children’s smiles on camera, and found myself wrapped in a warm and happy feeling.
Originally, I hoped many siblings could join us to match the spirit of “Siblings Day,” but unfortunately, since it was held on a weekday during spring break, none were able to attend. That was the only regret — but even so, the day was filled with joy, smiles, and heartfelt connections.
We were also thrilled to welcome not only our regular Sloth Cafe visitors, but also several guests from far away. I truly hope everyone had a wonderful time!
To the amazing Taniken Band — thank you so much! We would be delighted to welcome you back again next year. 🌈
