Report on Work Experience

Student S, a first-year junior high school student from Soka City, came for work experience. During the two days, her posture was so mature that it was hard to believe she was recently an elementary school student; she moved actively and took notes on what she noticed, which was very impressive. On the final day, she took on the challenge of making café au lait herself and completed a beautiful two-layer café au lait. Thank you for your hard work over the two days! Please come back to visit us privately anytime.

Report on “Dream Land with Wheelchairs” Disney Gathering

16 people participated in the Disney gathering held on Sunday, including families who rushed in from as far away as Fukushima and Shizuoka. “Disney Master” Akane taught strategies for navigating with a wheelchair. Participants from the previous session also reported that they were able to enjoy themselves smoothly thanks to Akane’s strategies. It looks like there will be a 4th round, so if you are interested, please check Sloth Cafe’s Instagram!

Handicraft Club Workshop Report

The other day, we welcomed Hisae-chan from Hachigendo as a lecturer and held a Kantha Quilt workshop. It is an upcycling process that breathes new life into old cloth. Thanks to our club president, who has a wealth of knowledge about handicrafts, it was a fun time of learning.

Next time, in response to requests from participants, we will hold a “Darning” workshop. Let’s cute-ly repair holes in your favorite socks or worn-out parts, stitch by stitch. (Please see the schedule below for details.)

[New Item] “Apple Ginger” Enzyme Syrup

Our new enzyme syrup is ready. It is a special Apple Ginger made with pesticide-free red ginger from Kochi and a green apple variety called “Seirin” from Yamagata. You can choose to mix it with soda, water, or hot water. The fruit soaked in the syrup is also delicious, so please enjoy it together with your drink.

Pastry Chef Ecchan’s Popular Cookies

Three types of popular cookies made by our exclusive pastry chef, Ecchan (@chococakesuki29), are now ready in large quantities.

  • Devil’s Cookie
  • Florentine
  • Coffee Biscotti

They always sell out very quickly, so please buy them as soon as possible.

Installed “Assist Suit” in the Universal Toilet

We have installed an “Assist Suit” that reduces the burden on the lower back during caregiving by approximately 35%. The owner also uses it for caregiving at home, and it has become an indispensable item. Anyone is free to use it, so please use it to reduce the burden on your lower back.

We look forward to seeing you at the cafe.
