Halloween is just around the corner 🎃 Here’s what’s been happening at the cafe this month, plus our upcoming events.
🎃We Carved a Giant Jack-o’-Lantern with Our Guests!
Hisae (@ohog), the leader of our Sloth Cafe Craft Club, brought us a huge pumpkin! (Thank you so much, Hisae!)
Of course, a pumpkin this big could only become one thing — a jack-o’-lantern. Several of our guests answered the call and carved it with great care.
We split the work over two days, and it turned out amazingly well — hard to believe it was everyone’s first time! ☆
A big thank-you to all the guests who helped out.
If you spot a big pumpkin at the supermarket or a farm stand, why not give it a try yourself?
Twenty-six years ago, I lived in the UK because of my husband’s job transfer. Every Halloween I prepared Japanese sweets and waited excitedly for the neighborhood children to come knocking with “Trick or treat!” … But in three whole years, not a single child came ( ；∀；)
So, little ones — please come visit us in costume! We’re looking forward to it 👻

We didn’t have time to visit many booths, but we picked up brochures on assistive and welfare equipment that caught our interest and put them together in one binder.
