Taniken Band, led by “Taniken” (Kenichiro Tanimoto) from the popular NHK E-tele show Hook Book Row, performed at Sloth Cafe! This special event was organized by Brave Kids, a group dedicated to supporting siblings of children with disabilities and their families, to celebrate “Siblings Day” on April 10th.
Although the cafe was closed to the general public, we offered a special pre-booked lunch. While guests enjoyed their meals, the band began their rehearsal right beside them. The venue was filled with beautiful music even before the show started, getting the staff very excited!
Once the live performance began, many in the audience were moved to tears by the warm vocals and instrumental melodies. Even during the break, the band members stayed in the cafe instead of heading to the green room, spending the whole time chatting and interacting with fans.
During the famous song “Niji” (Rainbow) in the second half, some guests even performed sign language while singing along. It was a wonderful sight, and it made us hope that by next year, everyone can learn the signs so we can all sing together.
It was such a fantastic performance that we made sure to book the band for next year immediately after the show ended. If you couldn’t make it this time, please join us next year!
